The PROTOS safety helmet from PFANNER® is a perfect product in many respects, providing perfect head protection in forestry, woodworking, or tree care, and impresses with its superior comfort and integral system. The helmets feature vertical and horizontal impact protection, a perfect ventilation system, and can be upgraded to meet every requirement with various optional items—such as a visor, chin strap, neck protection, and hearing protection. Eight times more security
PROTOS® safety helmets offer the largest field of vision of all currently tested helmets on the market. The patented PROTOS neck protection shell protects the back of the head in the event of falls or impacts and prevents the risk of a skull base fracture. The helmet's large surface area, in its stylish two-tone combination, offers up to 35% more field of vision. This increased visibility provides the worker with additional protection in difficult visibility conditions. The sophisticated damping construction inside the helmet absorbs impacts and prevents them from being transmitted to the head and spine. This is achieved by the 3-point suspension and the optional shock absorber, which is already integrated as standard in the PROTOS® Integral Arborist. The integrated hearing protection, which is always on the head in both active and passive modes, offers additional impact protection at the level of the ears, temples, and parts of the jaw. The ingenious and adjustable ventilation system offers not only perfect ventilation but also additional impact protection.

The integral hearing protection not only makes it easy to wear thanks to its design, it also protects against snagging on branches or undergrowth. The contact pressure can be adjusted to suit the wearer's needs. The deep, adjustable neck shell allows for easy and perfect fixation without the need for a chin strap. The PROTOS forestry helmet can therefore be opened and closed with one hand and fits perfectly every time. The active ventilation system, with its ventilation channels on the top, ensures balanced airflow inside. The sliders on the helmet allow for optimal response to any weather conditions. Fogging of the visor or goggles is prevented, and sweat is optimally wicked away. A special chin strap guide ensures that it does not slip under the hearing protection and negatively impacts wearing comfort and noise insulation. As in PFANNER® jackets, trousers, and shoes, the PROTOS forestry helmet uses Klima-Air technology. This technology offers excellent sweat wicking thanks to its wide support padding. All PROTOS functions can be operated with two fingers. For example, the ear muffs, which can be inserted into the integrated storage compartment between the head and the helmet.
Sustainable production
The Austrian manufacturer sets a clear standard here, without having to engage in lengthy discussions about the ecological footprint. Every component must be sourced locally and travel as short a distance as possible. PROTOS safety helmets are developed and produced in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Final assembly takes place at PFANNER®'s own factory in Hohenems by its own qualified personnel. This ensures not only sustainability but also extremely high safety standards.
The integral system
This ingenious idea not only allows the helmet to be upgraded to suit your own taste and needs, but after its five-year service life, all the helmet's components can be transferred to a new shell, saving you considerable money. In addition to a chin strap, various visors, and a neck protector, PROTOS also offers replacement parts subject to wear, such as the headband, the ear pads, and the soundproofing insert.
